Privacy Policy

Effective 23 September 2026 · Scatter is made by Balkose Studio.

In short Scatter edits your photos entirely on your own device. Your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else, we don't require an account, and we don't run ads or track you across the web.

Your photos

Scatter runs in your web browser. When you add photos, they are read and edited locally on your device — they are never sent to our servers or to any third party. When you export, the finished image is saved by your own device (downloaded on a computer, or through the share sheet on a phone). Projects you save in "My Scatters" are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device. We cannot see, access or recover them.

Information we collect

Using Scatter to make collages requires no account and no personal information. We do not collect your name, email, or photos through the app.

Two ordinary exceptions apply, common to any website:

Hosting logs. Our host (Vercel) may keep standard server request logs — such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to serve the site and keep it secure. These are not used to identify you or to profile you.
Web fonts. Some type is served from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to deliver the font files. See Google's privacy policy for details.

We do not use third-party advertising, and we do not use analytics that build a profile of you or follow you across other sites.

Buying Scatter Pro

Scatter is free to use with a small watermark. If you buy the one-time Pro upgrade, checkout is handled by our payment provider, Payhip. Payhip collects the information needed to process your payment (such as your email address and payment details) and emails you a licence key. We receive a record of the purchase and your licence key, but we do not receive your full payment-card details. Your use of Payhip's checkout is governed by Payhip's privacy policy. Your licence key is stored locally in your browser to unlock Pro on your device.

Children

Scatter is suitable for a general audience and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Because everything stays on the device and nothing is uploaded, there is no personal data for us to gather. We still recommend that younger children use it with a parent or guardian.

Your choices and control

Delete your projects. Remove saved projects individually in the app, or clear everything at once with the "Clear saved data" button — or by clearing site data for scatterphoto.com in your browser. This permanently removes your saved work and signs out Pro on that device.
Photos stay yours. Since your photos are never uploaded, there is nothing on our side to request, export or delete.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Scatter after a change means you accept the updated policy.
